Friends of the show,
I'm not sure if it is going to happen this weekend or next, but you may notice that Blue Screen Radio's Computer Show will no longer be re-broadcast on SE-93 on Sunday Mornings. This was a difficult decision to make for me as I have been broadcasting this program on Media One Group stations for just shy of 3 years now, but it was a necessary move for both the Computer Show and the Radio Stations.
Currently, the MyJamestown.net project, which is actually a service of Blue Screen Radio, has become such a large and time consuming project that I haven't had the time to put into the Computer Show what it needs to stay a good product on the Media One Group stations. Even though I continue to develop the show, I've found myself having to upload earlier broadcasts because I wasn't able to sit down and record fresh material.
Anyway, here's how you can continue to get the information about your computer even though it won't be available on the traditional airwaves. I'll still be doing the Tech Tip of the Day on SE-93 every weekday morning during the Lee John Morning Show. And the Computer Show will still be a weekly program, only you'll have to go to one of two places to hear it. It will air every Thursday afternoon at 3 p.m. on the Internet LIVE through either this site or MyJamestown.net. Then, it will be available on demand through the podcast immediately after. The Thursday show will be computer content mixed with music entertainment between the breaks. It won't be your standard talk show any more, instead it'll be a talk show that intends to keep you entertained throughout the hour. Also, the show may extend beyond the hour seeing as we will no longer be required to fit into a traditional radio clock.
In doing this, I'm able to bring in two new co-hosts, Ron Miller and Micheal Kenney from EagleZip.com, to bring more content to the show and also make it a little more interesting. I'm also planning on bringing back the digital photography segments with John Fuchs sometime this fall. I just have to get in touch with him and get it all worked out. Not to mention the many guests that I'm lining up to appear on the show from local and national computer related industries. So, if you're still interested in learning, now would be the best time for you to get used to finding me on the internet.
This site is going to undergo some changes in the next few weeks, so I recommend you listen to the broadcast from MyJamestown.net by clicking the Blue Screen Radio button on the "Home" page (click "Home" in the top menu).
In the meantime, we're still looking for your questions to cover during the program, so please don't hesitate to write me with your computer issues and we'll get back with you right away with the answers and let you know what day your questions will be answered on the broadcast of the show.
Have a great weekend and I'll keep you up to date as things change.
Oh... and I almost forgot... all the users of my Blue Screen Radio site will be getting an automatic user account on the MyJamestown.net site. So, beginning Tuesday, August 25th, you'll be able to use your username and password over there too, if you haven't already created an account on that site.
